Sugar detox after Sleeve

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried the 10-day detox diet, the blood sugar solution by Dr. Mark Hyman? I am definitely addicted to sugar even after having gastric sleeve surgery (1 1/2yrs ago). I want to try this 10 day detox (no sugar, caffeine, dairy, grains) but want to make sure it's safe for me. It recommends taking some supplements- not sure about them as a person with the sleeve. Any thoughts or experiences?

Wow, that sounds rough!!! I am a former sugar addict myself. I didn't do anything structured when I got off the sugar. I just stopped. It's rough at first, but the freedom is wonderful! I would just run everything by your doctor and make sure it is safe, and then do whatever feels right for you. I hope you have good results; I know how miserable sugar addiction made me feel. All the best!

I think I have a real sugar addiction because when I refuse sweets for at least a day, I feel a sharp desire. So if the desire for sugar can be compared to drug or alcohol addiction, then you can fight it with the same necessary measures. There are various detox programs for this kind of addiction, approved by doctors and successfully tested by many people. The key point in the elimination of addiction is the psychological recognition of the problem and your own independent desire to fight it. I am impressed by your success in living without sugar and I hope to achieve the same success in a short time.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
