@@Miss.Bunny447,

I’m sorry you’re feeling bad. The good news is that it’s almost certainly normal! You’re feeling the way most patients feel a few days after surgery.

Did your surgeon specifically say an egg is okay? If not, I would suggest waiting for a couple of weeks. Usually eggs do not come until 2 to 4 weeks after the sleeve surgery.

Over the next few days, I would definitely keep fluids as the highest priority. The more you can stay hydrated, the faster you’ll heal and start to feel better.

Also, maybe you already have, but check your Protein shakes to make sure they don’t have more sugar than you think. Some are a little higher in sugar, and if you’re sensitive to sugar, they could be contributing to nausea.

Good luck! Keep us updated, and feel better soon! I bet you will.

eggs are tough for some people for a while. I still can't bring myself to even try an egg and I am almost 3 months out. You seem like you're getting a good handle on things; I hope it gets better every day!

My program asks us to wait til 8 weeks out to eat eggs (in a recipe is OK). eggs can be hard to digest.

Are you taking some anti nausea meds? You may still need them. It's really common to have nausea the first several days.

I don't know what it is, but I keep waking up in the middle of the night, dizzy, with a cold feeling in the pit of my stomach; then a wave of warmth and nausea comes over me and I have to run to the bathroom only to dry heave.

I haven't even started purée because I was advised not to. All I've been doing is sipping a Protein shake once a day, eating a scrambled egg, drinking 4 oz of Gatorade and the rest of the day is Water. I have no appetite.

I don't really understand why, so randomly in the middle of the night my body wakes me up to dry heave. Am I doing something wrong?

Wow. I'm on liquid only for 2 weeks post op. I'm on day 8 after surgery. All I've had are premier Protein shakes and Jell-O Gelatin and pudding. Surprised you're eating sold food in eggs. I had RNY.

No eggs you are too early for that. ..just do liquids Protein shakes, Water, Soup broth. Your stomach is like a baby's stomach as they get older u introduce things slowly to them as far as food goes. So u have to do the same for your stomach treat ot like a newborn baby stomach..liquids for a while then purees for while then introduce certain solids. I dony know what your doctor has you on but i really didnt start back with solids until almost 2 months after my surgery

Only 3 daya and ur eating eggs and drinking Protein shakes? Thats may be why. I was only allowed Clear Liquids (water and gerbers fruit splashers), then it was 10 days of full liquids, then puree for two weeks, then soft foods for two weeks (ie eggs, cheese, bananas).... u should just be concetrating on sipping Water and liquid.. listen to ur body, the eggs may be way too much for u.. taking it down to just Clear Liquids may help.

I was on clear liquids for two weeks after surgery, then full liquids for two weeks, then pureed foods for two week, before moving on to soft foods like eggs.

That being said, it sounds as if your blood sugar is getting low. We're you diabetic before your surgery and are you still taking your meds for it? You might want to check your blood sugar levels when this happens.

Also, your doctor can prescribe some kind of acid reducer that you can hold under your tongue. That was a huge help for me.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
