@@ChrisInGalveston I had my surgery this morning too, my mouth is sooo dry! Did they give you a sponge to wet your lips ?

I had my surgery this morning too. Apparently they did my leak test while I was in surgery??? I've been drinking water, broth and tea since I woke up. Very small sips but so far so good. Love my pain meds too. I've walked twice to the bathroom with not too much discomfort. Best wishes to everyone!

Hey there, I'm an October surgery buddy. My surgery is on Oct. 18 I just started my liquid diet on Tuesday. I have to say, I was dreading this part and didn't think I could do it. Guess what? I seem to managing just fine. Unfortunately, I hate the shakes, so I literally just suck them down quickly.

I'm getting really nervous, but I'm sure that's perfectly normal. Have you had any second thoughts like maybe I can do this on my own?

Maddie

No, they said it would make me more thirsty. I am more awake this morning. I did 6 laps of the hospital floor. They are going to get my catheter out in a few minutes.

Yes I had those same thoughts ..I have a emotional dependence on food so the thought of never eating the way i used to was upsetting...

But I know I wouldn't really do this on my own, and even though things are tough today, 6 months from now I'll be so happy I chose surgery.

I was sleeved on Monday, October 3rd! Praying for everyone with dates coming up. Just take care of yourself and with your liquids sip sip sip!

@@mfoxworthy I'm the same day - and started my liquid diet on Tuesday. It's rough - but I'm hanging in there. I'm not hungry at all - just a lot of head hunger and I'm "foggy". I can only have 4-5 shakes a day, 3 Snacks of either broth, sf popsicle or sf Jello. I can have unlimited celery (which has been saving me at night). I hope the weekend (long one) is as easy - I will just need to keep myself very busy. I'm getting a little emotional and nervous but I don't have any second thoughts at all.

I had mine Sept. 30th...but I can pretend I'm an October buddy

Me too September 30th. I wonder if anyone knows what I'm talking about. When I turn on my left side to sleep. (How I used to always sleep) it feels like I can't breathe. Both sides of my chest feel constricted and I have to turn on my back FAST. Anyone know what's going on? 6 days post-op sleeve.

Day 2 of pre-op liquids almost over - 12 more to go! This is not easy but I'm happy to say I'm sticking with it 100%.

I'm on day 2 as well! I have my surgery next week on the 12th

I feel the same way!! I think it's just tightness. Swelling still going down. I had a hernia repaired there too so I feel ya. My left breast is my issue. Got a port on my chest above the breast, but the tube hoes under the breast....I'm talking red hot poker stabbing pain up through my nipple...it's bad haha

Kristen, stay strong. I'm with you, I'm not really hungry, just not used to NOT eating. It's going to be a tough two weekends for me, I have a wedding both weekends and won't be eating at either of them :( I will drink my shakes and someone said, keep my eye on the prize. Yes, I'm very emotional too.
