What am I doing wrong?

Recommended Posts

Surgery Date was 7/18/16

I lost 20lbs on pre op diet

Since surgery i dropped about 10lbs right away now I have increased my walking still on puree and only eating 3oz per meal with two Protein Shakes per day. I seem to be only dropping 1lb about every three days is this normal? I thought I should be dropping it faster? Frustrating when i think I am doing everything right.

a lot depends on how much you need to lose. I think you are doing great! I only lost like 1/2 a ln a week at the beginning and have a ton of stalls. My doctor said that was perfect for me and I lost the 75 % they predicted within a year. You may want to increase your food, not eating enough slows it down too! But I think you are doing great!

I had my surgery the same day as you, our stats are almost exactly the same, lost 20 pre-op, then lost 10 the first 2 weeks and now I haven't lost anything in a week, I have heard that this is normal though and the scale will start moving again. I have been walking and swimming, getting in all my liquids. I do not have a Protein goal yet, but I have been trying to get in as much as i can. I am on pureed/mushies still.

Impossible to answer without knowing your stats.

Short answer is to keep on track with your plan and with the exercise and the weight will come off. Steady is better than rapid-then-stall cycles, in my opinion.

1 lb every 3 days is 10 pounds a month. That sounds pretty right to me. Don't be so hard on yourself. At that pace, you'll have lost over 100 lbs in less than a year. That would be amazing by any account. Just keep grinding.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
