My first post op weigh in..

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on the 7/11 and was supposed to have my post op on 7/19 but didn't make it cuz I ended up back in hospital.. But long story short I had it today so a little over two weeks.. But I'm down 27lbs.. I notice it in my legs and arms and face but barely in my stomach area even tho I notice it in the way my clothes fit.. Regardless I'm so happy I made the right decision!! Thanks everyone on here for helping me with my journey along the way!!

5 days out and I haven't lost one single pound. I'm so discouraged. And yes I'm drinking my required Protein and Fluid intake.

Don't get discouraged. I did not start losing for a good 6 days. You are so bloated from surgery. I'm now 4 weeks out and have lost 16+ lbs. I was lower BMI so the loss is s bit slower. I also hit a 2-3 week stall. It's very real. This process is definitely not easy and your body has to heal first! You will do good. Just keep at it.

Seems unfair but totally normal! The weight will start to fall off very shortly. I too was discouraged the first couple weeks but I still ended up losing over 35lbs in the first month. Hang in there and relax. Follow your prescribed plan and it will pay off.

Don't give up. My body goes through these spells if staying still and even gaining a pound or too. Then after a week bam a big weight loss. Don't give up and never be afraid to ask questions. Best of luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
