After RNY gastric bypass surgery, I transitioned through 3 stages: full liquids, pureed foods and finally solid foods.

The chicken has to be super tender in order for me to keep down. Try slow cooking it in a crock pot

chicken is not really a soft food unless you puree it or do something completely different. Most everyone has had a problem with chicken at this stage. But you should not jump ahead.

I know every surgery and nutritionist is different, but the one thing that my nutritionist said to me that stuck was that the people that take their time progressing through the stages tend to have better results. Of course this is all just opinion.

I really don't advise skipping to a regular diet. Keep to the plan your Doctor and/or NUT gave you. Your incisions are trying to heal. In my opinion it is too soon for chicken.

I am on puréed foods (week 2 post op according to my doctor) and am enjoying it much more than I thought. I love chicken but heard it would be an issue and my nutritionist suggested canned chicken and it works well. I'm a fairly good cook so I'm trying to be creative. Like my new puréed chili- I cooked a roast in the crock pot, so I use 1.5 oz beef, an oz white Beans, a couple spoons of no sugar added marinara and a 1/2 teaspoon lite sour cream on top. It's a bit filling and the first day I ate too much but I won't make that mistake again!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
