My date is 21st July and my friend is with the same surgeon in Adelaide on the 20th. I am on the low end 36 BMI but suggested 2-4 weeks 2 x Optifast and chicken or fish and veggies (no potatoes, sweet potato. Going to give the four weeks my best shot as means I will be closer to a new me.

Have only told my partner and my friend. My family kinda judged my cousin who had it done 12 months ago and while I expect their view might change for me I am not going to take that chance. I want only supporters around me.

I am still a month away and can't wait.

@@podg25 I'm only 35 BMI then I was loosing weight by change of food habits because I didn't know if I was gonna get approved but yes I did so I had lost weight. I'm trying to eat now to gain a few before I do the liquid diet I don't know if I'll do the two weeks because I'm not at the BMI I was and don't want to be too small, just my crazy thinking that they'll think I'm too small but I have other qualifications like hbp, sleep apnea, etc. I'm just lost here

I have a couple of other conditions too, I hold my weight all over and am a short arse, only 5ft1 so. I am a little nervous too if I loose too much, but weight loss is usually slow for me so would be a miracle if I lost that much that quickly.

I'm July 20 IF all of my tests are good. I have appointments for everything. Had a little problem with the sleep study being scheduled for 7/26 but they had a cancellation so I'm having that done next week. Now my issue is the pulmonologist can't see me till 7/23 to get my results. I'm hoping I can get the clearance without having him go over the results with me. I also have to do Optifast for 2 weeks. I see the surgeon again on 6/28 so they'll probably tell me then what the diet consists of. I'm excited about this surgery. I've never been able to lose weight on my own. The most I ever lost was 27lbs. I'm 5'5, 257 with no health issues so my bmi alone qualifies me for the surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
