I was one of the lucky few I got nerve damage in my right leg. I'm almost 5 weeks out and as you know I can't take any anti-inflammatory medications.

Anyone have any suggestions on something I can do for the swelling?

Thanks.

(I do use ice)

Do you have a bath? If you do... try using epsom salts in a warm bath... try heat instead of ice....

Also... get some massage oil and after your warm bath/shower.. give your legs a good massage to get the circulation going

Don't feel bad Elle Marie. I have nerve damage in my right leg (side of thigh) as well (nerve damage was from my hysterectomy 16 years ago). For some reason this surgery caused it to flare up. It's been 6 weeks now and everytime I walk it gives me a burning sensation into the middle of my thigh! It has gotten slightly better since surgery, but Ugh! I hate the feeling! I have never found anything to help with mine, present or past. Good Luck. Let me know if anything helps.

That is exactly what I have going on it hurts so bad. I need to walk more but that just makes it worse. Mine is same leg and location. Surgeon put me on Lyrica three times a day. It helps a little. My leg is so swelled. I get the burning and sharp stabbing. Yet the outer skin is numb.

I just wish the pain would stop.

Mine doesn't create a problem for me walking, it just causes some discomfort. I continue to do as much walking as possible as well as being active with housework and cutting grass. I must push forward. I'm sorry that you are experiencing so much pain that it is causing you problems with walking. Hope it gets better quickly.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
