5 Days out & I cheated

Recommended Posts

After 5 days of just Water & some broth (I really can't stomach Isopure or artificial sweetener stuff) I had 1/2 of a Premier Protein shake. Couldn't do more than that. Started to regurgitate. I'm so hungry and disappointed. Just needed to vent.

I realize every surgeon is different but when I leave the hospital I will be on Protein shakes. I can think of worse things you could have cheated with.

How fast did you drink it?

@@2goldengirl I don't think to fast. Since then I've only taken a few little sips of Water. I'm just hungry.

It hasn't been like this : seems like today I was able to drink Water freely. I was feeling pretty good. My husband & I took a day trip. Stopped at a diner where he ordered a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings & sweet potato fries. That was so hard to sit through as I sipped on broth.

He's been grazing all day and he thinks HE'S hungry. Dang. Maybe that, accompanied by just Clear liquids is getting the best of me.

I think I should go to sleep

I wasn't released from the hospital until I could drink 10 ounces of Protein drinks... There are lots of ups and downs before you feel normal... I don't think you cheated though... I've learned that as much as I am a rule follower, I also need to listen to my body... Good luck hon!

I fail to see how that is cheating. I really do.

On my second day I was having 1oz Premier Protein shake per hour.

On my third it was double that.......fourth day and further out it grew to 33 oz per day.

I think you are doing great. Don't beat yourself up.

I am not a doctor. I have no medical training....nor did I sleep in a Holiday In Express last night......so you've been warned that I most likely don't know what the hell I'm talking about. :D

You're fine...a Protein shake isn't a cheat. Surprised your doctor doesn't have you on them already.

My surgeon and NUT doesn't allow Protein shakes until have 5 days of clear liquid, so I feel your pain :/ I'm going on day 3 post-op. I can't stomach Jello well at all, and I'm so tired of broth from my 10 day pre-op.

I don't think you cheated either. Just try your Protein shake intake much slower.

I am 5 days post op too!

It will get better, i honestly believe it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
