  3. Oh and I did not have to do the loading doses again with remicade when I restarted but not sure how different it would be with Humira.
  4. I am not on Humira, but I am on Remicade. I had to stop my Remicade infusions 8 weeks before surgery and my surgeon instructed me to stay off of it as long as I could after so that I could heal properly and not increase my risk of infection. My surgery was in June and I was able to go until September before my ulcerative colitis started flaring and I had to go back on remicade.
  5. Be careful Alex! Someone will label you as the "food police" and unfollow your instagram!

  7. If you need the calming effect of the ginger for your stomach, juice some veggies and add some ginger or blend some ginger into a shake.
  8. I made the mistake of drinking right after eating one time and I puked. I have never made that mistake again.
  9. My surgeon and NUT says that any calorie free beverage counts towards fluids. They also allowed me to count Soups and Protein shakes towards my Fluid goals.

  11. So I am 4 weeks out and you mean I can't have a medium supreme pizza all to myself? There went my dinner plans...
  12. I did. I think it's from the oxygen. It dries out your nasal cavities.
  13. I started having pain in my midsection and in the top of my shoulder after taking a shower and changing my drain dressing today. (I'm 1 week post op btw). It got worse tonight so I called the surgeon and she thinks that the drain has slipped and is now pressed against my diaphragm causing pain when I breathe deeply. My drain output has decreased and is a clear yellow now so she ruled out a leak and doesn't think it's a pulmonary embolism. Drain comes out Monday. I wish it was tomorrow. This hurts worse than the actual surgical pain! I slept on my side last night and then the drain change today so I'm wondering if that caused it to move?
