Im 5 days into my 90 medically managed weightloss and I've heard that you can't gain any weight during this time. Any ideas on easy diets to make sure i don't gain.

@@WhitneyMc - Welcome to the community!

I was a self-pay patient (mostly because of the time insurance takes to approve), however I did look into it, and I know many on here have been through it.

If you have started a Medically managed weight loss program for your insurance, then you should be getting diet advice directly from the medical personnel who are assisting your weight loss. Your surgeon most likely has a Nutritionist on his/her team that will give you instructions on what they recommend.

If you ever have a question on whether something fits into your new diet, you should just ask your nutritionist. They should be able to provide you with literature and some resources that would benefit you in this part of the process....

Good luck on getting the approval!

I don't know about "easy", but it might behoove you to go with a high protein/low carb diet, since that is most similar to what you will need to do forever once you are post-op. Can't hurt to start getting used to it now! Some other things you can work on "practicing" now are chewing thoroughly, eating slowly, and not eating and drinking at the same time. Might even be worth replacing a meal or snack with a Protein Shake to start experimenting with different Protein shake options to find which you like best.

well nothing is "easy". If it was we wouldn't be going through surgery

I have had success with a low carb high Protein diet, and I've seen others here also have success.

But my nutritionist gave me a good concrete meal plan

Ditto for me. My plan required 90 days monitored (monthly weight check only) with a total loss of 5% body weight. Mostly high protien and low carb with 1 meal replaced with a shake.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
