It'll be a month post op on the 21st. Down 40 pounds. Have absolutely no energy whatsoever. I've been taking B12 for 3 weeks and feel nothing. I know you're supposed to give meds 4-6 weeks but I thought I would feel something by now. Anyone advice and or solution would help. Thanks.

40 pounds is a huge amount in a month. Your body has a right to feel tired. How many calories, grams of Protein, carbs and Water are you taking in daily.

You had a major surgery and are healing. Taking it easy is part of the process.

You may not be getting enough calories in yet. I'm a little ahead of you - I'm 5.5 weeks. My surgeon told me to shoot for 600-800 calories/day and I definitely notice better energy now that I'm being able to get in 700 most days.

I took 2 days off work this month back to back because I was physical and mental exhausted.

A few more calories wouldn't hurt, 500 is really low. An average of 800 should still allow rapid weigh loss.

Another question is are you eating a variety of soft fruits and a variety of well-cooked, soft-ish vegetables? Vitamins definitely make a difference, and while you should be taking supplements, they are not as good as getting Vitamins in whole foods.

If I were you I would track my Protein intake with an app. To measure how much I am getting in every day. Try to up the Protein and keep tracking until u feel better. If u don't feel better try n ask the doctor office to see u n check for anemic. They could give u a B12 shot to help u but u should up protein

Honestly don't know how many calories I take in a day. If I have to guess I would say between 500-700. Protein, I get about 70ish. Carbs, less than 50. Water, maybe about 45-50oz.

I highly recommend that you track your food so your food so you KNOW whether or not you are getting in enough Protein and fluids. Guessing doesn't do you any good.

Getting in ALL of your protein and fluids is the number one priority and will help you heal.

I am 6+ weeks out and feel great. My energy level did not return until at least 4+ weeks post-op. No worries.......it will happen for you. Good luck to you and me.

I started tracking today. Should have done it a while ago but better late than never.

I'm pureed right now. I try to incorporate different foods. Hummus is my thing. But chick peas havery alot of carbs. Next week is soft food. That is when I think it will get better for me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
