Getting the sleeve has been the biggest regret of my life. I wish i could warn everyone and I will. If you want the new normal to be throwing up all the time and being sick then this is the choice for you. I am so mad at myself for not having enough self control to just stop eating so much and to just work out. Im 3 weeks post op and i just am so mad at myself, the insurance company and everyone. Yes you lose weight but at what cost?

Majority of us go through that regret stage at 3 weeks out .. Tell me all about it I was there and my boyfriend said is your hormones from the surgery and the anesthesia messing with your emotions and yup came here and I was made aware that this happens and it will pass!

So keep your head up and nothing comes easy but it will be so worth it .. Just keep hydrated Water shakes Popsicles etc.

I was sleeved on March 7 and have been feeling so discouraged and scared to say anything about it. Will I ever eat again? Will I ever be happy w/the results? I've lost 30lbs and have no more diabetes but I cannot eat. I sip all day. Protein makes my breath stink and leaves a milky film in my mouth so I pretty much gag through trying to get in 60 grams a day. Which I never hit. I'm just doing the best I can but how healthy can it be for me to sip Water, tea, suck on ice and get in maybe 9 oz of Protein shake a day? I feel like I'm failing and setting myself up for health issues. I eat pea size amounts of say chicken or tuna or salmon. Chew it throughly and slowly and it still gets stuck. I've given up and just drink. I can eat no where near the amount of food that's listed as a daily food intake from my doctor for stage 3. I really hope it does get better as everyone says. I thought I researched and knew all there was to know before getting sleeved. I wasn't prepared to not be able to eat tiny amounts very slowly.

Please don't give up. those pea size bites add up, and you will get to where it is not a chore. Have you tried canned chicken or else slow cooker chicken breasts? for me they are more tender and easily handled, especially in the early days.

I am 9 months post op and had nausea shortly after surgery. I only vomited a couple of times, but believe it was side effects from the anesthesia. I made sure I took my Zofran every 6 hours for the first two weeks.

As far as hair loss, it happens. However keep taking your Vitamins. My hair has finally stopped shedding. It will b get better.

Yep been there.. Cried and cried asking myself what the hell did you do ??? I scared my boyfriend, for days, the poor thing., we laugh about it now.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but give it time, 2 months of adjustment out of the rest of your healthy skinny life is all it is.. This is a huge lifestyle change its not going to be easy, but it sure the hell is worth it !!

From a suggestion I read this before my surgery:

It talks about how almost everyone goes thru the regret stage so I warned my husband before hand. I didn't throw up or have the slimes. I have to admit I have been one of the lucky one's but there was still a day I was thinking I was an idiot. Oh yeah that's because I was. One week out I thought I was wonder woman and over did it. Work, laundry, grocery shopping and then ...didn't drink enough and ended up in the ER because I was dehydrated. 3 bags of IV later. The docs and everyone told me to make sure I got enough Water so I blame myself but I was still regretting it that day.

I think it's tough to know what your journey is going to be like. Kinda like child birth. Which was a horrible ordeal for me and then tons of complications afterwards. I would do both over again for the same results I have today

That would have been very hard for me as breast meat chicken or turkey is one of my go to foods. I hope you find things you enjoy!

I am almost five weeks out. Haven't thrown up and I only get nauseous when I eat/drink anything with nasty ass surclose. I do get the slimes but PPIs have been helping with that. Most days I can get the Water in. My issue is Protein. I never get anywhere never 70 grams. It will get better. I can drink 16 oz in an hour. I should be transitioning to solid foods after my doc's appointment next week. Hopefully I will do well with solids. It's a journey. Take it one day at a time.

@@phuckyourtruth thank you for your openness. I needed to hear what you said. I'm pre op and really nervous about all of this. I've asked myself the same questions...what's wrong with me that I didn't or couldn't just exercise and eat right. Smh I'm moving forward, praying the entire time. I'm praying for you as well. I need this change to live a complete life. I don't want to die early. I'm willing to push through, even with tears.

I know there are many different post-op eating protocols. But that's a new one on me.

I was eating pureed chicken 2 weeks post-op during the puree phase. And I've never heard of anyone having to have chicken "scoped out."

So weird.

My daughter was sleeved on 4/4/16. Has been having nausea dry heaving. The recovery nurse showed her a trick with alcohol prep pads. Just rips one open sticks it under her nose. Works wonders. Hope this helps some one else. Good luck every one

Well I have to say it's the best thing I've ever done in my life. I've never been happier. So with that being said it's all in the experience. Mine was fantastic. Hopefully you will come around and have a better road. Surgery is not always easy. Neither is change. Give yourself some time to heal. It won't always be this bad. Just hang in there.

Throwing up every day is not normal. I had sleeve 2/15 and not throe up once. I had awful neaseau the day if surgery but that eas it. Hope it gets better for you.
