Looking for April peeps for RNY (Bypass)

Recommended Posts

@claddagh66- thank you! I feel much better today! The first couple days I felt fine, but when I came home, since I had to walk up steps & whatnot, my pain seemed to skyrocket. But I'm on day 4 post op, and I folded some laundry, made my kids a snack, and sat on my bed while tidying my room- so I am feeling like I'll be normal in no time!

I'm 1 week out as of today. Had gastric bypass on 4/14. Down 11.5 lbs since day of surgery, 21.5 lbs since 4/4. So thankful to finally be losing!!

I'm 5'7"

Highest weight: 299

Preop weight before LS diet: 270

Surgery day weight 260

Current weight: 248.5

Goal weight: 135-140

Anybody name their pouch? Looking for a good one for mine. Toying with a few names but none are just screaming at me. The ones I'm toying with are Polly Pocket, Penelope Pouch, Penny, or Joey (like the baby kangaroo).

Update, @@crazyboxermom please! I'm now 4 days post-op and am so eager to hear how things have changed for you this week!!

I'm so happy to be out of the hospital. I had some really good nurses and some rude ones, but I'm happy to be home and sleeping in my own bed now. I still have that tube sticking out of me until Wednesday and the gas pain is excruciating, but each day is better than the last. Having such a hard time getting Protein and liquids in because it feels so tight and uncomfortable, but I'm trying.

Congrats on all who had their surgeries this past week like I did! Mine was the 26th I'm 4 days out now and wow do I have a back ache. First couple days of laying around so much did me in! Surgery went well. Went home late day two.

I'm working hard on my liquids thinking I'm getting about 40oz in and 60-70g Protein so I don't think that's so bad. I'm really bad with keeping track of things. broth and Isopure yum.

Keep posting everyone!!!

Had surgery (RNY) on Monday and my only issue was post anesthesia nausea which I expected due to prior issue of the same. I was up and walking once the nausea wore off and lucky that I have had no issues with getting in my 64 oz of Fluid. I am not on shakes as well and have been able to get the 60 g Protein in with paying attention throughout the day. I am walking 2-3 times a day for 10-20 min depending on how I am feeling. My pain hasn't been bad at all but I do stay current on medication, maybe skip one or two doses a day now. My drain is annoying and I look forward to it coming out on Tuesday! I have lost about 6.5 pounds since the surgery and can already see it in my face, neck and chest areas as well as my ankles and feet. This has really been a great experience so far!

Yay, so happy for you alphabetize! I am 2 weeks, 3 days out. Pain is gone, been off all pain meds for past 11 days. I am on soft foods. Been eating ground turkey, FF refried Beans, mashed potatoes and Wendy'a chili. The scale has been stuck for 5 days but I've heard this is normal. I went to dinner last night for the first time. Got the chicken and mashed potatoes at Outback - chicken made with no butter or oil. I didn't eat much of it but it was nice to go out with my family. Still struggling to get all my Water in, but I'm working on it. I'm down 13.5 lbs from surgery which isn't a lot but 23.5 total for April which is awesome. So proud of you! The gas pain was the worst for me. It really helps to walk even though it's uncomfortable. Thank you for updating us!! I've been thinking about you and wondered how you were. Haven't been on here in a few days. Hang in there! It gets better!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
