I did not see any other discussions on this so have created one here. Now that I have been on this journey for going on two years, it's crossed my mind that perhaps I might want to switch gears and look for a way to work for a physician, group, or program, etc., to try and support others on this path. Has anyone else given any thought to this or looked into it? Or does anyone work in this field currently? I have no relevant experience. It's just an idea. I am interested to hear others' thoughts.

I've seen more than a few bariatric superstars turn life coach or motivational speaker! Other considerations, bariatric nutritionist or therapist?

i too was interested in this... but more from a motivational/life changing messaging. I didn't really pursue it as I have a fulltime career already. I do feel that there is much to talk to people about beyond the surgery itself, beyond the food plans, beyond the short term view. Much of that may belong in a therapy setting - but I do think there is a big picture message here that someone who HAS successfully transformed their life can communicate better than any therapist I have ever met.

I think that a social club organizer would work. --something like "The Green Sleeved Society". A membership fee to join and then additional fees for different activities, trips, recipe exchange socials, speakers, walks, activities, etc.

Even though I had my surgery only 5 weeks ago, I have been thinking for awhile when I do get to goal I would like to become a Zumba and Bokwa Instructor. Also been thinking I might start a WLS Meetup Group in my county. However someone else tried to start one and in less than a month she discontinued it. Not sure why! "The Green Sleeved Society" was something I googled but didn't find anything. Is there a link you could send me?

I just made it up! :) It's just an idea I had. I like the name--kinda like, "The Red Hat Society".

I have toyed with the idea of becoming a personal trainer for about a year now.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
