This is my seventh post op day. I'm feeling pretty good - not much pain at all. However, the one thing that IS a pain is trying to get all the liquids in! The nurse from the hospital called to check up on me and said if I get at least one 20-ounce bottle of the Isopure in a day that's pretty good. Anyone else having issues getting their fluids?

BTW - congrats to those that just had their surgery. I knew it would go well!

1st day post op. Miserable from two tablespoons of veggie broth, drinking since 645 this morning. But I will keep that in mind. I literally have to take ten every hour to get it down.

The very first sip I took from the little cup was a bit more than I should have tried. I threw it up. I know what I did wrong and it hasn't happened again! just pace yourself. By the time I finished ONE item on my Breakfast tray - the lunch tray arrived! Hang in there girl!

Will do. I do not like being this full! No nausea, just a feeling of being overfed. I will take it real slow.

How are you managing to hey fluids in?

I sip pretty much all day. I'm still working on my first 1/2 of the bottle of Isopure. I added some Water to it because it seemed too sweet (I got the Grape Frost flavor). I'm doing what I can. See doc tomorrow and maybe he'll start me back on shakes. (I miss chocolate!)

Oh dear. I'm nervous about that! They want me to drink two 32-oz Gatorades (regular, not the G2) every day for the first week after surgery.

You should be fine. My mistake was I tried to gulp the two tablespoons of veggie broth, instead of sipping slowly.

I hear that. I'm a gulper - and will surely need to SLOW down.

It's a process. You can do it.

Your new stomach will remind you to slow down. You'll feel it. I've been telling friends that my stomach is like a funnel with a very small opening at the bottom. If you put too much in a funnel too fast it just sits there. Same thing.

If you can't get the 2 bottles in, do the best you can. Good luck all!

I'm home. I was discharged last night after keeping down liquids and being able to walk laps around the nurses station. The gas x definitely helps with gas. I'm alternating between rest, brearhing exercuses, and walking around the apartment.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
