Confused (Wk2PostOp)

Recommended Posts

I am on week 2.

I can have full liquids.

My question is that I been reading lots and from what I read full liquids you should consume 1/2c per "meal". I can go up to a full cup with no issues, even more, but I purposely stop at 1 cup,

Should I stop at 1/c no matter what?

liquids are not meals. liquid runs right through your sleeve into your intestines within a couple minutes. The "meal" size refers to solid food. Just keep drinking....as much as you comfortably can. Be thankful you can hydrate so well and so easily.

So having 1c of broth at a time is okay?

Check your documentation for what constitutes a "full liquid" I was surprised that it included puddings and Jello, yogurt, etc. Those might stick a little longer.

I can have broths, pudding, cottage cheese, cream wheat. Stuff like that.

At 2 wks, I would feel very full on 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. Even now, I don't think I can eat more than a half cup, but the true liquids aren't restricted anymore. Once my swelling went down, I could drink fairly normally.

I am on liquids for 3 weeks and I'm going into my 3rd week. I've been able to drink pretty decently this week, but I still am pretty careful. I "eat" liquid, no chunk Soups but I have to be careful how quickly I eat those. I can only have about 5-6 oz of Soup at a time before I feel full. The fullness isn't uncomfortable, it's just a feeling of, "that's all I really want".

I'm excited, but nervous about moving to soft solids next week. That's when the true test of how much my sleeve can hold. I will probably take it VERY easy.

I'd say drink all you want of actual liquids, but stick with no more than 1/2 cup of the cottage cheese, pudding and cream of wheat. I'm two years out and don't think I could eat a whole cup of cottage cheese, so take it easy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
