Sitting in the hospital crying

I'm glad I found this board, it has been so helpful already as I just joined today. I'm having complications from my surgery and am so depressed and wishing I could take it back. Here is my story, if anyone else has experienced anything like this, please respond. Here's my story :

Went on on 12/31/15 for gastric sleeve, was told surgery went great. At 9pm that same night I went in stage 3 shock and was transfered to the ICU

They found that I had lost over 6 pints blood. They did 5 transfusions but the bleeding wouldn't stop so Sunday Jan 3rs, they did surgery again to see what was causing bleeding and repaired it. I had 24 ounces of blood clots removed. Although in a lot of pain from two abdominal surgeries, my numbers were rising. I went home on January 5th. I was in a lot of pain and short of breath at home. Thursday, Jan 7th I had blood work that showed my white count as high and my hemoglobin was back down. I had a fever Jan 8th of 102. They did a CT Scan and found fluid around my lungs and belly. I take it this is not something that normally happens. I'm just so worried that I'm not going to recover. Thanks for the help!

Welcome home ????

What an ordeal but so glad you are better! Welcome to the boards :)

Glad you're ok and that things are being sorted out!

Wow what an ordeal you went through. So glad to hear you are better and back home and losing weight at last. Take the time to heal correctly. Please don't rush back to your normal routine until your completely healed and have rested as you sure went through a lot.

Hello Serendipity

I too sat in the hospital for the 1st admission for 5vdays. Than 2 days later read minted for dehydration which lasted 13 days. I have not had the same issues as you. However, I can truly relate to the frustrations and fear that an elected surgery is now causing us.

I cannot hold fluids so I am currently with a ng tube.

It pains me deeply to know I made this decision in hopes for a better tomorrow . Only to be so severely thrown off course.

Just know your not alone. I have not had any resolve yet but hopefully soon we can talk about better days
