November 2015 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Where are my November sleeve buddies? I'd like to connect with folks going through similar stages together so that we can support and learn from each other.

Sleeved on 11/9 here. I'm still learning what I can and can't eat. And I've never been able to get in the 100 oz of liquids I was told to drink daily. I aim for 50 and am happy if I can surpass that.

Sleeved Nov 13. Just as all of you have already said, there is a lot of getting to know my sleeve going on. It is weird, I will think a food is good as it my sleeve is ok with it and the next time I have it I will vomit.

Right now my focus is on increasing my workout's intensity. Luckily I have a bike and elliptical at home for this extended break, but the gym bag is already packed and ready to go for the new year.

Hi fellow November sleevers! I was sleeved 11/18/15 & have been a very slow loser. Started incorporating cardio and have been eating lots of Protein. I'm able to get 64oz of Water in daily but don't like the taste of water lol. One thing I'm suffering from is I wake up with headaches every morning. It's not dehydration but I don't know what it is.

Sleeved 11/30. Still on puréed foods next dr appt is this Friday then I go to diced foods. Hardest challenge is getting in my 64oz of Water. I can get 48oz if I'm lucky. Other then that I feel pretty good and really excited on how my clothes are fitting :)

I got the Sleeve on 11/5. Diet is pretty much unrestricted, I find my go to is chicken, tuna and Protein shakes. Just started drinking wine and booze again over Christmas, and noticed my tolerance is a lot less. I have already lost 58lbs and hitting the gym again everyday.

Sleeved 11/25/15 started 8/4/15 250 lbs date of surgery 228.8, currently 201.8. Have been walking on my treadmill till 4 weeks post up, also using albs weights for arm exercise, but at 4 weeks started with approval of physician swimming, 15 swimming and 30 min now at 45 min aqua exercise and walking, love that, great for everything Water is great protects your joints and toning muscle, go every day before work since I started Saturday one week ago have not missed a day yet, hard to go, but feel great afterwards. Ok with 64 ounces of Water, ok with Protein 60-80 gram, but hard to get anything else in regarding fruits and vegetables. Have eaten very well cooked brocolli and carrots and apple sauce, but many days since I started soft foods just enough to deal with Protein, eating cottage cheese and 1 cheese stick for Breakfast, or yogurt, lunch chicken, tuna or sometimes lox same for dinner.

I wanted to respond to SCARLAP but did not see a reply button, I have a f.u with my physician at 6 weeks which will be this wednesday and waiting for approval to start hula hooping, i was thinking that might be something when allowed by physician that you want to try. It is great for toning and cardio and not as expensive to buy as many exercise machines. You can look on line, just make sure that you have one that is the right size, not a childs one. It will maybe take a little time to be able to do this, but most people can learn it. Also 5 lbs dumb bell weights are great as well as ankle weights, which you can use when walking in your home or out with stroller.

Good luck!

Nov 18th here. Daily struggle trying to decide what to eat. My nut says no Pasta, bread, rice until day 120. I'm wondering if that's more for the weight loss aspect. I really want some cous cous. Lol

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
