I got my surgery on the 15th and I'm scheduled to return to work on the 23rd (desk-job) but I don't think I'll be able to, yet. I wish I took 10-14 days off.

I was off for an entire week, including the weekend. However, the following week I did half days. I'm a special education teacher, I could have done a whole day, but I was tired. I needed some rest. Being in the office may be seated a bit longer than I am. I was discharged the next day after surgery. I came home and there was no need to take pain meds. I took one dose of Tylenol the day I came home. There was not a pain meds prescription given to me. I full week could be done.

I took two weeks as well. I was tired when I got home. When I returned, no one even questioned why I was out. They all thought I was on vacation. I had no pain and felt great. And feeling better every day. Good luck!

I'm taking 3 weeks. I'm 9 days post op and I can't imagine going back any sooner. But everyone is different physically and financially. .if I could afford more, I'd take it.

You are very lucky indeed. I could probably function...slowly, but my patients and I are probably all better off if I stay home and bit longer.

I had surgery on 12/7 was first expecting to be out for two weeks, however was still pretty sick at my post op on 12/22 and got another two weeks off. Now I am still experiencing near constant nausea and vomiting at least once a day. I am supposed to return to work on 1/4 however that may be delayed if I can't get past this hurdle. I just can't imagine going to work when I am feeling so lousy. One positive is I've been able to up my Fluid intake, very slowly though. Could use more Protein but tend to get sick with that. So just taking it one day at a time.

I can't stand the Protein drinks anymore either. I had my surgery on the 15th and I go back the 7th. I'm like you, I can't imagine going back feeling like this. I only have nausea when I drink the Protein Drinks. So I have advanced my own diet a bit. Baby food meat with a bit of cream Soup in the blender, eaten very slowly has worked well for me with the nausea issue. I can tolerate carnation instant Breakfast. Not as muchard protein but better than not eating because of nausea

I see my doc and nutritionist tomorrow, will probably get a lecture. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
