January or February 2016 Sleevers?

Welp, the monthly support forum has not been updated for 2016. I know there's a thread somewhere for December & January sleevers, but thought I'd include you January peeps in honor of the upcoming year. Share your dates, doctor/nut/psych visits, tests, hopes, and whatever else you want to share pertaining to your surgery. Feel free to offer encouragement and cheerleading as warranted. Maybe everyone can link up with some sleeve buddies!

I'll start. I have 100 to 130 pounds to lose (no goal set yet). My sleeve was supposed to be in January. Instead, my husband needs to go out of the country on business in the middle of the month and can't guarantee he'll be back, so I'll probably be sleeved in February. It's frustrating to me because my insurance requires 6 months supervised diet. I finished that the week before Thanksgiving (U.S.) I'm scheduled to attend the final "class" they require all patients to take on Dec. 17. My endoscopy is Jan. 13. I could easily have made it in December, but hubby didn't want me restricted over the Holidays. (I had thyroid surgery with complications last year just before Christmas, so I understand how he feels.) Still, you can imagine my frustration now that my surgery needs to be pushed back again!

Who's next?

*Mods please move this to the appropriate forum when you update the support groups.

@katladee I love the Pointer Sisters and I am scheduled for Jan 26th also!

Surgery was approved in 2 days by my insurance and my surgery date is January 13!! So excited! 2 week liquid diet starts next Wednesday!

Mine is also on the 13th! But I don't require pre-op diet.

Well my 2 week liquid pre-op has been aborted..dr called and changed my surgery to Jan 11th. The good thing is, it's a better surgery time..12 instead of 3 and I can go to Christmas dinners without carrying all of my food with me.

Hi !!! Guys ????

I will be wrapping things up next week.. I have had a long road in front of me! From being denied to have to start all over again!!!

I was like most people. I show up to my appointment get weighted and move on... Well not so fast???? turns out that My surgery center was not billings correctly.. So long story short it looked like I never went through the weight loss program. But grateful to be able to finish the program finally!!

I want to know if anyone has tried to do a liquid diet before an pre-op diet starts?? I was told to do one day for the week. I have find myself so hungry, that I ended up with a migraine and in the E.R. ????????????

I did 1 full day of the liquid diet, the only thing I felt(feel) was extremely tired. Like I have taken naps today and yesterday something I usually do just on Sunday's. I never got a headache. Did they say at the hospital that it was something you were lacking? Or was it the type of protein drinks you used?

Yes to the emergency room!! but I might add I have chronic migraines to begin with. I was told to drink Atkins protein shake. Because of the amount of Protein in it.. I like drinking premier but I can only have three of those. Premier has to much protein before surgery.

I hope you feel better soon @@moni5855

Anyone else experience lack of energy on the pre-op liquid diet? This is day 2 and I am so tired. I've been taking a multi Vitamin since we are lacking nutrients. But my goodness I thought I had low energy before.

I've done the juicing thing before. The first 3-5 days for me are like that. No energy and then I adapt.

Yay.... So I had my first consult with surgeon on the 18th after a long 7 months of nut, pcp visits and psych found out today already my surgery was approved yay surgery date is Feb 16th because that's how far my surgeon is booked out my I don't even care I'm so happy to know I've been approved what's another month and a half

It is crazy how far out they are scheduled. My date is 12/30 - I have known for 6 weeks - and now it is only 6 days away!! Yippee

Ugh another date change... Trying to stay positive. January 12th now.

Yes definitely.... Seems like when I first started this journey it was a rare procedure or at least it seemed but as times passed seems it's getting popular
