Just banded Thanksgiving

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I was banded on Friday and I was just wondering how long people took pain meds for because I'm almost out and I was wondering if there is some liquid over the counter stuff I could try? My doctor isn't there because it's thanksgiving. Also I am starting to get hungry but I'm still on "full liquids" what are some ideas other than Protein shakes?

Thanks

You can get liquid Tylenol at a local drug store. You can buy the children's kind and take an adult dose.

I think I used prescription meds for up to the first 3 days, then Tylenol for maybe 2-3 more days.

Walking helped a lot! It breaks up the gas they use to inflate your abdomen, and helps your body with the healing process.

I was back to work in about 7-8 days.

Good luck! Let us know how you do.

Hi Aries, congratulations and best wishes as you're healing up! I found I did not need pain medication but even so on day four or five I had to address Constipation. The best thing all-around for me was the walking and I was just so excited (still am) and that carried me through discomfort which lessened each day. For full liquids I really liked the potato leek Soup found I the health food section of the regular grocery store -- comes in a carton. And I was cleared for egg drop soup, yummy! I loved my Popsicles during this time but really wanted savory, too. Good luck with all -- you're doing great! Just wait until next thanksgiving, oh my goodness, you won't believe it's all true.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
