It was right at 3 months post-op for me. From what I've read on other posts, losing hair during months 3-6 is pretty common. I'm only 4 months out (almost) now, so I'm expecting it to continue for a while yet. Labs are fine and I'm taking Biotin, though I'm not sure it's really helping.

The plus side: when it started falling out in mass quantities, I cut it into a short bob, and between the new length and the thinning, styling my hair takes like half the time it used to!

I'm 3 months, my hair isn't thinning and it seems to be getting thicker and longer.

About 6, 7 months in I started getting thinning around my temples. I am also post menopausal so I'm sure that played a part as well. It's a little weird that it appears to be mostly in the front. The back of my hair is still really thick.

Mine started at 3 months and finally got better at about 7 months to 8 months out... i also cut mine shorter and i also stopped washing it as often... started using dry Shampoo instead and it seemed to help.... both my hair and drain!! Lol

Mine started falling out about one month post op. I'm now 3 months post op and it's falling out in larger quantities, especially when I wash it. As a result I wash it less frequently now. Definitely thinner than when I started!

3 months out. My hair used to be so long but I cut it shoulder length now and the shedding of hair has dramatically decreased.

Mine started coming out in clumps at 3 months out. It has finally stopped and I'll be six months this week. My hair is super thin compared to before surgery but no bald spots. I cut it much shorter to help with body. I am hoping I will start to see new growth again soon.

It's due to your body going through a traumatic experience. It can happen after a bad car accident, child birth, surgery, etc.

My surgery was 8/17 and it started thinning a few weeks ago. I notice it in front but I've adjusted how I style my hair. I will take the thinning hair any day over being 295lbs! Plus it will grow back :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
