I have a feeling you will not only rock it but you'll swagger out of the hospital when you get to go home. ????

Good luck sir!

Let me look around and see if I can find a pic of coming home after the last hernia surgery.........pimpwalking with a pillow pressed into my hurting gut. Wishing I'd maintained the discipline from back then to not have gained this weight after that point.

Here it is. I sorta know how it's possibly going to feel for a while.

So excited for you. You are going to rock this!

Thank you !!!!!

I think I'm finally ready.

All the best to you mate...

Exciting times ahead for sure...

I'm not sure about the whole nekkid thing tho...

Aren't you guys coming into winter there?

Good luck to you..

Kinda...

Thank you.

Sorry for goofing around on the original reply. I'm just feeling really, really good today. Ready. Eager. Looking forward to the new and improved version of my body that will be emerge after the surgery, through maintaining kitchen discipline and with some successful work in the gym.

I'm hoping to return to my 30's when I'm living my 50's......or at least feel that good.

Well this time I have a feeling you will rock it!!

And as a fellow Glock enthusiast, I know you have to be tough as nails! Will be crossing my fingers for you!

Thank you !

Yup......Glocks, Colts and a recent Les Baer are the backbone of my handgun inventory.

I'm a fan of Glock 9mm's and 1911 45's.

The most recent Glock is the one that I swore I'd never buy......the diminutive G43.

After a few range sessions with it I take back every disparaging remark I made in ignorance. These guns carry very, very well and handle wonderfully.

Target below was on the first session with it. Lower group was first two magazines I ever shot through it. Head shots were the next few. All shots as 21' standing, two-handed grip:

I'm certain that the gun is more accurate than this. I'll try it from the bench next time just for kicks.

Still a very tight grouping! I'm a G17 fan myself

Oh yeah. I really like the G17.

My favorite Glock, though, by far.......is the G19.

Same 21' two-handed hold stance

A younger shooter with better eyes and a steady hand could shrink this group considerably.

;)

Expect miracles.

Seriously.

POWERFUL

Thank you so much for this. I am very encouraged by this !!!! :D

I can't get The Final Countdown outa my head. Funny stuff.

I appreciate the laughs.

I'm a little stressed about missing the time from work.....but I'd be out anyway with hernia repair. I'll return as soon as possible and know that I'll be much better equipped to handle future challenges. I only hope my new boss is patient and understanding.

The unknown is always scary. Going back to a new boss would suck, but you seem like the type of guy that will get along with anyone. So please try not to worry about it.

and yes our heads are singing Europe together.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
