Protein help!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for getting my Protein in. Ever since my surgery I haven't been able to stomach any Protein Shakes. I've tried Atkins, Unjury, Premier Protein, Isopure Zero Carb protein waters. I can't handle any of them. I'm in puréed stage. I've tried drinking out of a cup with a lid as my NUT thought it might be a heightened sense of smell making it difficult to get the shakes down. Everything I try is just overwhelming taste and smell of protein. I need to be getting it somehow and I'm at a loss.

I was having a hard time a few days ago and found that putting it over ice helped cause it thinned it out. Hope you find something that works for you.

Try adding the unflavored unjury kind to grits or Soup try the powder kind. I couldn't do any thing but Syntax nectar they sell the individual packs at Vitamin Shoppe see how you like them with the milk you drink I started with the Lactose free fat free milk from Walmart now I use almond milk 30 calories with my Syntax has no after taste or smell.

I agree with @JosieAppleHead. I use the Isopure unflavored powder and add it Soups and beverages. If not, then start seeking out high Protein foods and yogurts instead.

Like @@JosieAppleHead I can only do the Syntax nectar, but the fruit flavored ones. They are mixed with Water (I am lactose intolerant) and I put them over ice so they are super cold.

EAS carb control is the only one I am able to tolerate. It's 11oz for 17g of Protein and thats the main drawback...you have to drink more to get it all in. But they taste a lot better and I can drink them without gagging.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
