Loose tummy skin

Recommended Posts

Sigh. I'm dating right now and I'm really worried about the lose skin on my stomach.

I have a flap that really bothers me, it's not hideous but it's there.

The rest of me is pretty darn nice, just my tummy needs work.

I'm so nervous about having sex with anyone new over this. I can't afford to have plastic surgery till next year but I don't want to wait to date that long!

How important do you think it is that I have a perfect or at least, flat tummy?

It's only as important as you make it.

I can relate since I'm worried about how my skin will look in a couple months, but seriously... Being overweight/obese used to stop me from doing so many things I wanted, I'm not letting myself think like that anymore, and I'm certainly not going to wait until my body is 'perfect', because that won't happen. Ever.

It bother me too, but it honestly didn't bother anyone I dated. The guy I'm dating now specifically kissed my stomach the first time we were together, he wanted to show me that he appreciated all of me. I would tell the person before we got to that point just to see how they reacted too. Now that I have had my LBL, I feel much more confident in that area.

If you date divorced guys who have children it won't be anything we have not seen before. Remember, if you live long enough, gravity always wins.

I was going to ask what age range you were looking to date. As OKCPirate notes, the older they are, the less concerned about tight skin they are. I'm 57 and my BF is 60. He knew about the skin ahead of time and it doesn't matter to him at all. I am very flexible at my size these days and very enthusiastic. Those things are waaay more important than the perfect body.

Having said that, if you are much younger and seeing men in your age range, they might be taken aback if you do not disclose first. But if he's a keeper, the imperfections won't matter. I'm telling you...you are way more concerned about this than almost any man worth his salt.

If you want to date, don't wait for plastic surgery....it's the least important reason for waiting in my book.

I wouldn't worry then. You're not looking for 20 year olds who have no clue.

If you're dating a guy with kids and he knows you've had kids, he pretty much knows what he's getting! Plenty of moms who were never obese have issues there!

@@gowalking - "I am very flexible at my size these days and very enthusiastic. Those things are waaay more important than the perfect body."

**ahem, cough, cough** Is this commentary, or are you bragging? ;-)

"I wouldn't worry then. You're not looking for 20 year olds who have no clue." - absolutely true, millennials have no clue.

@@bellabloom - You are in the right demographic for guys who don't care, if they do, then you probably will find they are porn addicts who have a skewed view of what normal people look like. IMHO, not 100% true, but seems to be a pattern.

That's funny, but truthfully, it's commentary.....and inspiration. Hell, if I could, I'd post it as a NSV...

I know this is probably TMI, but the look of wonder on my face he saw wasn't based on how good it felt when I was in a certain position...but more my amazement that I could even get my legs and waist bent that way...

@@gowalking - I agree completely. There were places I could not go at 305, and it's expanded dramatically when I started doing hot yoga ;-)

Guess I'm old school, lol. "Dating" was all about getting to know each other, way before the intimate stuff. So he'd know about your insecurity(ies).

Man I'm old !! ????

But I agree - any man worthy of you, it won't matter.

Yeahhhhhhhh. Sigh. I have no willpower. When I'm attracted to someone after, oh I don't know- I can hold out a month maybe. But I am dying to rip their clothes off! I'm a damn horny woman!!! Hahahaha.

This loose skin things sucks but it's still better than being fat. I really hope I'll meet someone who doesn't care. I'm a whole package right?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
