I'm having a very difficult time taking my Protein Shake, every time I do it makes me gag and today I gaged and threw up a little but everything else I'm relatively fine I'm only two weeks out. So odd what to do I wanna get my Protein in not if I gag and though up every time.

What about making a popsicle out of it?

I had that happen with almost every powdered Protein shake I tried then I switched to Premier Protein ready made shakes. 30gr Protein, 1 gram of sugar, 160 calories.

They are delicious, no grit and no foul protein taste. They even smell like chocolate milk.

My surgeons office recommended them and they work fantastic. In the first month or so I did need to thin them out a little with milk because they were heavy but by week 6/7 I was able to drink them as is.

You can get them at Sam's and costco in large bulk packs of 18. I have also found them at Walgreens in smaller packs but they are not at every Walgreens.

chocolate is the best because it is not overly sweet but vanilla and strawberry are not bad either.

Give it a try....

I found a milk that is high Protein and lactose free at Dillions/Kroger it's carbmaster and it's 11g Protein/8oz and I drink a glass twice a day (I add ice to keep it cold{eww gross.... get over it})

The youtube channel 7bites has an episode about "yuck in a cup" that might help you. during stage one I ate a lot of beef broth with soy Protein.

Do you think you might like a Soup better? ProtiDiet makes some with 15 g Protein. I can vouch for the chicken flavored one tasting good.

I'm nine days out and I have a few shakes I've developed a taste aversion to because I've been dealing with some GI upset. Just looking at them makes me feel icky.

I make egg white shakes. If you get the liquid all whites, it doesn't do too bad, definitely better then the Protein shakes. You can look at the all whites website and they have a lot of recipes for shakes.

Have you tried the whey Protein Powder at Walmart they are like 20 dollars and come in different favors. I enjoyed the chocolate with fat free milk.

I ordered the hot chocolate variety pack from the BariatricPal Store and I'm three deep into it and really enjoying them. I add 8 oz of Carbmaster lactose free milk by Kroger (Dillion's in my part of the country) and it makes a 26g of Protein treat. When I get to the end of the day and realize I'm behind in my Protein I make one up and enjoy while watching a tv show. I will try them all except the mint (can't stand mint for some reason but I've never tolerated it well.) So far the cinnamon is my favorite.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
