I'm going from sleeve to bypass

Recommended Posts

I'm getting the bypass on Monday. How long was the pre op diet. Im suppose to do a 10 day one and I had a small meal yesterday and now I'm nervous that I won't be able to get it done

Mine was a two week liquid diet. The first few days sucked big time and I doubted my ability to keep going but around day 4 or 5 it just got easier. I guess our bodies adjust, our stomachs shrink, and mentally we can count down so we can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I'd prob check w you surgeon about any special instructions if you went off the diet this close to surgery.

I went from band to bypass and had a two week diet of Protein Shakes, plus we could eat a lean cuisine or weight watchers. It made it doable although I did still cheat just prior to my surgery. I'm 5 weeks post op!

I had no pre op diet. My surgeon even had me eat a steak the night before surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
