Didn't mean to spam anyone or any group. I just enjoy hearing from others about their journey. I'll leave the group. Best wishes everyone.

I don't see how anyone spammed anyone lol. Silly people

@@werryd I never meant that anyone should leave the group. And my obviously insensitive comment was not directed at you at all. I sincerely apologize. I was a little frustrated that every time someone would post a comment or a question, someone else would post saying please join our secret group. The first time it was posted i thoght, "well that is sweet, a November group will get started . And hopefully it will be as awesome as this October group!!". But then after each additional comment it was posted again and again. So much so that I felt this was becoming the center of this thread rather then the great advice ,comfort and support we give each other. I am sorry if my comment was offensive, it was merely frustration because I so enjoy this thread and felt a tinge of disappointment when I would get notification of a new message only to come find it was not someone posting a question or comforting word. I honestly did not mean to cause a big deal.

@SleevinChica just sip sip sipping away! I am heading out (for the first time since surgery) to walgreens in a bit to find something for Constipation. That seems to be my biggest issue right now. No real pain to speak of. You must be getting soooo excited!!!!! I can't wait to have you on the losers bench with us!!

I am day 3. I didn't have any gas pain at all I was however very nauseous every time I got up and down. That lasted 2 days. I am really struggling with getting the fluids in. I just emailed my but bc I was freaking out that I would get dehydrated. It is a job. It takes me 10-15 min to drink one ounce . If I take 2 big of a sip I have to get up and move around b it totally feels like it is gonna come right back up. I also didn't start my Vitamins as of yet. When I take the other pills that I was discharged with they take me forever to get them down big pills with little sips one pill fills me up. My nut says that I can wait a week or so to start the vitamins and that as I heal the 68 oz will be easier ( I know she's right but right now I'm like omg) she said as long as I sip sip sip and get over 40 oz I should be ok and all this is very normal.

I have to say my surgery went well and I was up and walking with no issues

So glad to hear that!!! It is interesting I am suppose to start Vitamins when I get home. Every program is so different.

So I got a summons to appear in court on the 26th and my surgery is the 21st. I am wondering if I am gonna feel up to it. We got called to testify against this guy that broke in the house next to ours.... I am like what! I did not think the bank would file charges but obviously they did. I will ask my surgeon on my surgery date what he thinks, but I am a bit concerned.

How did you all feel 5 days post op? I am also having a hernia repair.

I really hope Ron is okay! Did anyone reach out to his wife since her last post?

Congratulations! You can learn a lot on here. Take the good information and leave behind the rest. Be sure to follow your surgical teams advice. You will find on here that all our programs are so different. Keep us posted. You will find this is a very supportive group.

I'm just trying to invite everyone to our group before I get off of bariatric pal. I don't like that there are so many paid posters and drs on here. I created the FB group so we can all support each other. My surgery is nov 6th

@@pyra28az if you have followed this thread then you should have seen the great live and support we have for each other! This site has been a saving grace for me and I know for many others. I support your desire to create your own support system but you don't have to encourage people away from this site. Post one or two times about your support group it even ever do often. All I am saying is that flooding this site that we love with invites over and over again is a little frustrating to me. Just my own personal opinion. No one elses. I personally want everyone to get all the support they need!

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
