The idea is that the longer it takes you to eat, the better the signal from your stomach to your brain, telling it that you are full. The longer you stay full. If it takes 25 minutes to eat (what my doctor recommends), you should stay full for 5 1/2 hours. I was told to wait one minute between each bite, taking only marble sized bites.

It can take me about 20 to 30 mins to eat one scrambled egg and most of the time I feel full before I finish it. I have just now at 3 weeks post op been able to get the full feeling. As far as an omelette I am no where near ready to tackle one of those..

I never could stretch my meals to last 30 minutes. And I hate cold food (especially eggs!) and they would be ice cold if it took me that long to eat them. I feel full quickly anyway and I stop, so I don't see the point in sitting there nibbling for a lot longer time period. I think I would end up eating more, not less that way.

It was suggested to me to buy a hot plate. I never did, but it sounds like a good idea.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
