No pasta no rice and no bread

Recommended Posts

In my opinion and experience, I think it's best to stay away from those items as you're losing. I think once you've lost 75% of your weight, it's good to incorporate small amounts back into your diet in preparation for maintenence. But even in maintenence, they should be limited.

In my case, I sometimes have an issue with sugar cravings when I have too much of those items, so they are very limited for me.

Not saying what others should do, but in maintenance I do eat some brown rice (it's a whole grain), some Pasta (as a treat and when I feel I need to gain some weight -- yeah, that can happen early in maintenance), but very rarely white potatoes, which just don't appeal to me post-op.

Okay I'm so confused. Argh. You are all saying that carbs clog you up, but for me, I can't seem to get down meat! cheese works but meat gets super stuck. I've lost soooooo much weight I've been eating whatever Incan to try and find what works and I have better luck with things that are wrapped in bread or tortillas. Why do I have to be so abnormal. I hate having to eat carbs.

I wasn't told to eliminate carbs just the bad over processed white ones I can have whole grain Pasta bread and red skinned potatoes but honestly since eliminating the bad carbs I rarely crave any carbs

I was told no to all three, and i dont miss any of them as there is always another alternative available. I use a lot of quinoa as a replacement for rice and its really good source of Protein and fibre amongst other benefits! I have tried eating bread and Pasta, they both make me feel quite unwell so i just say no to them. No big deal really.

They won't be on my list of 'to have foods' no matter what. My NUT said I can have Pasta now (7weeks out). No thanks!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
