@ brittd, Hi, I'm assuming you never went to a nutritionist. Usually Insurance Companies require that you visit a nutritionist. Some do , some don't but someone must of said to you about a pre-op diet before surgery. The purpose for the diet is to shrink liver,

My coworker was sleeved in May and never had a preop diet and everything went just fine. Depends on the Doctor I guess!

I did see a Dietitian but she never said anything about a pre-op diet. . . I have a bunch of paperwork on nutrition care following surgery, just nothing about beforehand.

@@brittd, I guess it wouldn't hurt if you did go on a liquid diet. Broths, Protein Shakes, High Protein No Sugar Jello-0 or pudding. A meal, chicken or fish, the size of a pack of deck cards, cooked veggies such as broccoli, carrots. Try doing it for a week. Or, call your doctors office and say that there was no mention of a pre-op diet but that you hear many do. For me I only have to do one week pre-op diet because my BMI is under 40. For patients over 45 BMI, they have to go for 2 weeks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
