Tomorrow, Tomorrow..you're only a day away!

Good Morning BP Friends!

Tomorrow is my BIG day and I am full of more emotions than I think I've ever been! I am excited and nervous and scared all at the same time!

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of you who have shared your stories, both good and bad, on this website or your personal blogs. I have learned a lot from all of you. Some of you have scared the living crap out of me, some of you have made me laugh and smile and some of you have given me some amazing recipe ideas (especially with how to change up the protein) but most of all...ALL OF YOU have inspired me! I am so thankful to have found this website and be around other people who GET IT.

I am also thankful to those of you who have asked the questions I didn't think to ask or was afraid to ask. You have been my voice more times than you could know.

This road has been long and bumpy, but I know in the end every frustration or tear shed out of hunger (I've been on the pre-op diet for a month straight now..there have been a lot of tears! LOL) will be worth every minute of my new life. I know it won't be easy. I know it will take some getting used to. But I've been determined for the past 6-7 months to get to this point, I refuse to give up now.

Thanks again everyone and I can't wait to be on the loser's bench! =)

xo,

Niki

I'm down to a half hour before I go into the hospital. Starving, thirsty, tired. Can't wait for my cat nap. 2pm the surgeon starts. IV anxiety setting in.....

@ and @@manji2013, you both are going to do fantastic! I remember that feeling, a mix of terrified and intensely excited, and very soon all that work will begin to pay off. I remember coming home two days after surgery and thinking "wow... it actually happened. I actually did this. It's done." It's a really profound kind of realization. I see surgery as a sort of hinge, after which your life takes an entirely new direction. You guys are both right at the hinge, and the whole other side is coming very soon! Just take it easy, be good to yourself, and listen to your doctors and nurses. All of us here have been where you are or are going to be soon, and we all are here to support you! Good luck to you both! :D

Nikikins, you are going to be just fine. Had a great experience, and was up walking around last night by 9pm, as surgery was at 2pm yesterday. The only pain I feel is fas coming up in chest shoulders, walking helps get that moving on out. Take a deep breath my friend, you got this. I will be thinking about you today, good luck!

Best wishes to all of you going for surgery today. "May the surgeon had a good night sleep last night and wasn't out partying with a hangover" haha just kidding!.

But you can always check that theory by giving your surgeon a hug .....and scoping out his eyes to make sure he isn't under the influence. ...oh H-ell , just ask him to recite the alphabet backwards and if he can....then you are good to go! LOL!!!

Good luck nikikins and manji2013!! By the time you read this, you'll probably already be at the hospital - maybe even post-surgery. Saying a prayer that all goes well and that the experience exceeds your greatest dreams and hopes!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
