Not that I was told. I was told my insurance only requires a non medically supervised diet attempt and then all their tests and screens.

I have UHC insurance and have to do 6 months of nutrition, doctor, fitness and psych evaluation. I have appointments scheduled through December and the need an appointment in January and February before I can schedule. Did you receive a letter outlining your appointments and possible procedures? I don't have to do anything other than the above and that's spread over 6 months (UC 's rules not mine). Do you have a patient advocate assigned?

Thank you for letting me know. I guess I'm just nervous since it's kind of up to her if we get the surgery. Like if our minds are ready enough. I know we are all definitely ready. I'm 25 and ready to be back myself. And be healthy for my daughter. My dad had the bypass in 07. I watched him struggle with the pain and how he eats. The sleeve is different but that's what I'm getting. I think UC is great though and will take good care of us.

I know what you mean Molly. I'm 47 and have a 5, 7 & 27 year old. I'm also a grandma. My dad died at 58 of a heart attack and I want to avoid going down that path.

I'm sorry to hear about your father passing. My mother passed too when I was 16. Almost 10 years ago. But not weight related. I'm happy to have you guys to talk too and I'm happy that we all go to the same place!

Hey Molly! I did have my psych appointment today. Really no big deal. I had to answer some questions on paper that were looking for eating disorders and drug or alcohol problems. Also a couple questions on mental health stuff and how you have felt in the past week/month. Easy peasy and she approved me with no further psych stuff.

She really just talks about surgery and how you have to plan meal times, eat according to plan, exercise and log your food. I told her I use myfitnesspal and a vivio fit to track my steps and she was pleased with that. Also asked about support system and what my husband thought about surgery.

My Dr was Dr Weiss, he's a amazing doctor. I used to live in Ashland. Never looked at Ashland for a surgeon though.

I remember you saying that now. Hopefully time goes by a little faster. I'm starting to get nervous and not even close to the surgery date really. Still not even sure what day yet either. I go see dr. Ivan on Wednesday. I'm excited about that. I love seeing him.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
