@@Chrystee what kind of bike shorts did you get? I found some cheap ones on Amazon but I think I got what I paid for. I'm giving them another week and then getting another pair. Why does cycling have to be so expensive?! I'm not on MapMyRun but I'm on MapMyRide, does that make a difference?

Did the Wonder Woman bike ride Saturday with my 2 daughters. 73 miles was a lot of fun especially being able to do it with my daughters. Eat GU, blocs, and stinger waffle crisps. I was able to still have enough energy to ride 30 miles yesterday. Still have 500 miles to bike to reach my goal of 2015 miles this year. I am a very goal driven person just hopes the weather holds out. On biking shorts the more padding the more they cost but well worth the money.

So I need a little more advice - I got a lovely new Trek Lexa C but have been having trouble riding it. Almost immediately after I get on it, and go more than 400 feet, my quadriceps start hurting. According to internet searches I've done, it means I need to raise the seat. I raised it a little bit and it had no effect. Should I keep raising it? I know you shouldn't be able to put a foot flat on the ground, but at this rate I'm not going to be able to touch it at all. Any suggestions?

You might want to go into a bike shop that can do a bike fit. They can make sure the seat and handle bars are at the right place.

@@gerio I did! That's why I'm confused. I was fitted when I bought the bike.

So sorry, that would be frustrating maybe check back with them and see if they have any suggestions. I love biking.

@@gerio they raised it a little bit but it hasn't made much difference. I'd go somewhere else, but after spending all that money on a bike and bike gear, I can't afford to pay another bike place to fit me.

I am so sorry, maybe keep trying just a mile or two at a time and see if it is just using different muscles. I am not an expert for sure. My two daughters are biking too and it took them a little while to get their bodies use to the biking. Hope you start feeling better, it is a great way to exercise. I had knee replacement a few years a go and was back out on my bike 3 months after. Good luck.

@@gerio thanks! I thought about the fact that I'm using different muscles, but I had been doing 10 miles a day on my old cruiser.

When you move your foot around to the 3 o clock position it should be almost about 90 degree bend in your foot.. Your knees shouldn't be going over your toe or you need to raise it.. How's your foot position? I find a more center my foot is on the pedal, more my quads and hams hurt. The more of my upper part of my foot, the more I feel it in my calves. Are you stretching?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
