It's Sunday 10 pm and my surgery is tomorrow at 12:30! I'm soo hungry lol and very nervous I'm thinking if I should really go through with this! I'm sooo afraid that I'm making a huge mistake by doing it! It may be the nerves talking and the fact that my life will never be the same...fear of the unknown. I hope all goes good tomorrow ???? please keep me in your prayers and thoughts!

you can do it..... The hardest part is making the decision - that is done. No Regrets - only opportunities. Relax - have a glass of Water and take three deep breaths. You will do GREAT!!!

I'm 3 weeks out tomorrow I think what made me regret it was the pain and the thought of never being able to eat normal again. Once I was put on solids about 7 days ago (Drs orders) oh man did I feel better! I'm super happy and the pounds are just falling off!! You took the hardest step it get easier from here.

I honesty don't even care about the food. I'm regretting it because of the pain and nausea that I feel. Nausea to me is the worst and of course I'm nauseous ???? I hope this passes soon!

My surgery was on Thursday 8/20/15. I was in so much pain and so nauseated and dry heaved so many times in the hospital I lost count. They had to order zofran, reglan, and the scopolamine patch for me to get it under control. It finally helped. I stayed 2 nights in the hospital and was so miserable, but, as soon as I was able to go home, I started feeling better. I'm 5 days post-op or 6 if you count surgery day I suppose, and I'm down 10 pounds already. I was really in regret mode the first 3 days but it's getting better day by day. I have more energy today than any other post op day so far and I expect it to get better and better. I hope you start feeling better and hang in there. I think it will get better. I do miss the thought of many foods but then I remember that my uncontrollable love of food is what got me on the operating table in the first place. Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery.

Thank you everyone for the responses! I am on anti nausea medications every 6 hours or so. I'm still feeling a bit weird. It's hard to explain. It's like when you haven't eaten for a long time and ur stomach is grumbling and u don't know if it's nausea or pain or what. That's what I'm feeling. Yes I'm still in the hospital I'm trying to get down my 24 ounces of liquids and when I do that and keep them down I can go home..hopefully today! I'm really struggling with the liquids though. I get a lot of gas when I drink them

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
