Weight loss and excessive loose skin…

Recommended Posts

I am worried about not being able to firm up with exercise after I reach my goal. I have absolutely no desire to have "body contouring surgery.". I have spoke to many wls alums who say that the extra skin often can be as frustrating as being obese.

My Dr. did say that with my age, health and the fact that I am at the lower BMI spectrum I should have good success through exercise.

I would like to hear how other's have handled this.

I am 48, 5'2" and 210 lbs.

My surgery is scheduled for September 10th

My stats...44 at time of surgery, 5'3" and 256 pounds...I've lost 75 pounds and am nearing 2 years post op.

I have some sagging in my thighs, I have batwings under my arms and I have sagging at my tummy. It is not as bad as I expected. I have exercised since my surgery, I do weight training, yoga and cardio. I put on lotions - I don't know if they helped, but I figured it wouldn't hurt.

I"m not interested in contouring right now - I'm not saying I'll never do it, but right now it's not for me.

I'm living my life - I'm happy, saggy skin and all.

I am 5' 6" inch's, started at 217, am down to 125, and am 52 years old. I am also over 2 years post op. I don't have a lot of lose skin, but enough to bother me. It really shows when I lay on my side. I am quite active, I love to hike. It seems as if nothing is working. This may be because of my age and loss of elasticity of my skin.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
