New member... Surgery is Monday the 17th

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm Lisa. I've been waiting for about 15 years for a chance to have the gastric bypass and finally it's here. It took 4 months to pass thru all of the doctor and insurance hoops and now I'm finally four days till surgery. I honestly never thought I'd get the chance to say that so I feel so very blessed that I can now. I'm a bit anxious but I think it's because I've wanted it for so long. I've seen first hand others succeed and fail with this tool so I feel like I'm well prepared. Still I wish I had known about this app sooner. Really could have used the support. I'm here now and can't wait to make some new friends and learn even more about this God given journey.

Congrats! It's an exciting journey. Lots of support on here, feel free to reach out if you have questions. I'm only a week out though, so certainly not experienced. ;)

I am scheduled the 17th as well! Triplets! :D I am getting a little more nervous as we get closer to Monday, but now I have begun my Protein shake countdown until surgery. 9 more to go. LOL Then liquid diet and then it's time! I too feel blessed to have this opportunity to improve my quality of life! I am so ready to start the healthy living journey! Having this website as a way to get more facts and ideas on what to expect has been and is really helpful. Check in time for me is 10:15 and surgery is scheduled at about 12:15. What about you guys? We will have to keep each other posted!

Thank you for asking. I'm ok. The anesthesia is a lot. I I'm going to have to spend another night because it has left me dizzy and nauseated all day.

I just was able to take my first walk a few mins ago

I'm doing great. Went back to work today. Very tired but I muddled thru. Also lost 16 pounds last week so I'm super excited about that. I looked at my outfit in the bathroom mirror and realized I can no longer wear that to work. YAY!!! Headed in the right direction.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
