Hot flashes & sweating

Recommended Posts

Sweating I can't take it any more. I randomly break out in a sweat several times a day. Not at all typical for me. Please tell me this will end. Especially around my neck and forehead. Ugh.

I don't think there is anything particular to weight loss surgery that would normally cause this. I think it's more usual to have that related to hormonal changes or issues. I suppose metabolic issues could contribute but I'm no doctor. I would go see your GP and let them check you out.

You're not using any supplements containing stimulants, like for the gym, are you? caffeine, guarana, yohimbe, etc can all get you fired up when combined with exhertion.

I'm sure it's hormonal. Really not exercising too much as I injured my knee. The only thing is the caffeine but I only drink tea and it doesn't necessarily seem related. Thanks for your thoughts though.

@@Maryw - I do the same thing. I think it is all menopause, sorry. I am 52. I have noticed being a lot colder - I guess the 70lb coat made a difference.

Have you missed any monthly's? If so, I would be checked out with the GP to see if its the start of menopause.

Hot sweats are horrible. I had them for over a year then decided to go onto HRT and the difference was amazing.

Hope you feel better soon!!

I'm 52 also and menopausal but was always cold prior to my surgery. I know my hormones are out of whack and think the change of diet screws with the hormones more. Thanks all for your support.

Not just the change in diet, but the rapid weight loss. There are a lot of hormones stored in fat and when it breaks down, those get released back into the body. It's one of the reasons pre-menopausal women experience a spike in fertility post-op.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
