Should you blenderise or strain your cream shops to de-lump?

I would think they would be healthier if you put them through the blender.....thoughts?

watch the sodium in the canned Soups. are you cleared for pureed?

"having a bad time?"

I was recovering in a 25' RV post-op so, trust me, organization was not happening:)

I drank a lot of Protein drinks and strained cream of chicken, egg drop, broccoli & cheese Soup, FF pudding, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, Greek no-fat yogurts that was flavored (no fruit) at first. I couldn't stomach the taste of the SF popsicles or Jello. Made me wretch every time :(

I have been making home made Soups, blending and then straining them. I leave enough for a couple of days then freeze the rest in large ice cube trays. Nothing tastes better than home made Soup and it really doesn't take much effort. I am not the cook of the house but even I have been able to do it, eat it and live !! lol

Kate,

Do you have a good recipe for chicken Soup? I have not eaten chicken soup in almost 3 years - I ate so much of it right after surgery that I never thought I would ever want it again! :-P But now I find myself looking to get away from the canned stuff and make my own.

Or if you have a favorite soup? Could you pass it along?

Thanks

@joatsaint: There are a few nice chunky Soups I have made in the past, I would have to dig out the recipes however they are not low carb and probably high I calories so I am going to start looking for some nice ones to try once I am on the pureed stage.

Since I have been married my husband hasn't given me a look in in the kitchen, which I am not moaning about lol but it means I haven't tried anything new for a while. I have made Tomato, pea and ham and chicken Soup over the past 2 weeks but they have been very basic and for the liquid stage. You are so far out that they would probably be too bland and not enough ingredients for you. Make you a deal though, one I find a nice one and try it around week 6 - if it’s good I will send you the details. I love soup and used to make soup in a bread bowl which I picked up when living in Canada. Soups are cheap to make, easy to store and as I said before home-made is so much better than most shop bought.

If you find any nice ones yourself please share!! :D

I was told to strain my cream Soups during my full liquid phase. I wasn't allowed blended stuff until my pureed phase.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
