Waiting on approval from Aetna

Recommended Posts

It's been 2 days and I'm so stress waiting on approval my BmI is 45.6 and has been over 40 that last 4 years. I gave all my previous weight history to Aetna.. Do you think I will get approved? I complete the 3 month deal. Does anyone have Aetna and know how long they take to approve VSG?

Aetna took about a week to approve my revision. First they requested more of my history. Then they followed up with the surgeon about my hospital stay. I was stressing but it worked out ok. Good luck.

If you haven't net gained in the three month deal, they will approve you.

I got approved in one day, but usually it takes from two weeks to one month.

At your last dietitian visit, they must have weighed you before they sent your paper to the insurance .

If you didn't gain weight from you first visit weigh in, then you will be fine.

Trust me, the office staff will do their best to get you approved.

let's be honest, they get paid by insurance money :)

I have Aetna too. I am just starting the process. But I was told not to gain any weight from start to finish. And I was told it takes 2-4 weeks for approval. Good luck. I am rooting for you. And so is the doctors office.

Thank you so much! That makes me feel better. I called the insurance today just to check the status but I'm trying not to bug them! I don't want them to get annoyed with me. ????

I felt the same way. It feels like your life is in the balance. Sometimes they respond quickly, sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks. Try to relax and trust it's going to be fine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
