It wouldn't have been ok for me but I don't know what your Drs plan is. There's not much Protein (which should be the top priority) in salad and it may be hard for your new stomach to digest. I wouldn't consider it "soft". You should ask your surgeon if it's ok.

salad is down he road in a few months.Protein and Protein should all be on your mind. eggs, tofu, yogurt, small curd cottage cheese are your soft foods at this time.all surgeons are different in their believes, you should still have access to their nutritionist in his / her Office. remember your stomach is still healing at this stage.

I was told no raw vegetables for four months. Hard for the stomach to process. It was Protein first everything else second. Been almost six months, I feel great and I can eat anything in small portions.

I have a hard time picturing myself eating a salad at this point. The chew chew chewing along would not make it worthwhile to me. In any event, it's not on my plan for stage 3.

For me stage 3 is "soft foods" only. Examples (for me), moist (there's that word) chicken, turkey, cheese, deli chicken, turkey, tuna, etc. Applesauce, yogurt, cooked (canned) carrots. These are just a few on my plan. Not sure if they are ok on your plan. Good luck.

Not on most plans. Think of stuff you can easily cut with a fork. salad would not be on that list. Raw veggies, particularly lettuce, are among the hardest foods to digest. Also, as others have pointed out, you would be wasting valuable stomach real estate on something with virtually no Protein.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
