What did you wear at the hospital?

Recommended Posts

I'm curious what everyone wore after surgery at the hospital? You know, for the walks before you were discharged. I would like to wear something normal other than a hospital gown. I'm not sure what would be better knit pants and shirt or something like a long pajama type dress thing? Suggestions......

I was too tired to care about changing. I just wore my gown with another one worn on my back like a robe.

Gym shorts, my night nurse was awesome and a little off like me so when everyone left I told her I wanted to walk but not with all the monitors and wires, she said if made it to the bathroom she unhook me and let me walk, she did and then lost track of me when I took off down the long hallways, she ended up chasing me down and kept laughing cause all she could see was my gown and bright orange shorts

I still had my catheter and drain in when I took the first 3 walks so I didn't care what I had on as long as it covered that mess up. LOL The morning they told me that I would be discharged, I changed into leggings and a t-shirt.

I had thoughts of bringing a robe and pajama bottoms, but will probably not end up taking them. I just got home from visiting a friend who had her surgery yesterday and she quickly ditched the idea of using the ones she brought.

What with all the tubes, wires, walking, vitals monitoring, overall exhaustion, and fluids being pumped in, modesty, comfort, and the complicated logistics of getting them on and off, quickly gave way to practicality.

I'm being told I'll only be in the hospital overnight. I want to be comfortable but I want to be practical.

I just wore the hospital gown and my own robe over it to walk the halls.

I wore a hospital gown and slippers. When I left the hospital I wore a loose pair of pants and a tank top with a zip up hoodie :)

I'm taking gym clothes.

Nothing more comfortable.

I've got a pair of New Balance slip on shoes that I highly recommend.

They're the best "around the house" shoes ever. Super comfortable. You just step into them or kick them off.

I'll probably buy a new pair by then, too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
