My day is tomorrow! Band to bypass

Recommended Posts

Im not too scared yet. Probably because ive been through many surgeries. I just want to get this over with. Get this band out of me finally and hoping to have real control again over food and expecially sugar. I dont want to fail this time :( See you all on the other side

On the other side. Relieved that its over. I was in the hospital for 2 nights. I hate this drain. Its gross. But i know its short term. Surgery took 1.5 hours. There was no problem taking out the band. I have had no nausea issues. I hated the really strong pain meds. The world was spinning. Anyways it wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be. I hope everything goes as planned here on out. Good luck to all those with upcoming surgeries.

Dibaby,

How are you feeling now? Did you get the band out and the bypass the same surgery day?

Hi soexcited, yep same day. Got a two for one. I feel much better now that i got that drain out and the staples. Although tonight my left side is hurting more for some odd reason. I guess i did too much today. Anyways im down 23 pounds. Its sooo wonderful to be sleeping flat again with no reflux. Im so glad to be band free!

Drain didnt hurt much. The stiches hurt more because they were red and angry. They would get stuck. Yeah glad thats over. It still wasnt that bad though

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
