Just want to say waist training and Corseting are two different things. You can absolutely be 100% healthy and not lose muscle tone while training or Corseting. With that said, if you are waist training it is latex like a compression garmet. Talk to your Dr. Sometimes they are recommend after some surgery's. But only your Dr can tell you whats right. Corseting, since it is more rigid, I would definitely wait before putting one back on and wait till I am completely healed. Also, Real Corsets are expensive, wait till you are at your goal to start purchasing them they are a real investment and spending that kind of money for something you can only fit for a month is a waist.

This seems like a fad. Like going and getting a wrap to make you lose five pounds. I know what they are and what they do- but we just all paid 14000( or I did ) to make a real change and get a tool that is majorly effective. One of my fav things about this surgery to me is that I am not Falling for and spending money on things that more than likely won't be a lasting answer

I agree for some waist training is a fad. Corseting and Faja's have been around and in use for years. Only recent stars have made it a popular fad here in the US. But even if you lose weight, unless it is in your genes, you will not have an hourglass figure. Nothing wrong with someone wanting to grab that sexy look. [emoji4]

What brand of corsets and spandex are you guys using. Where can I purchase? Iv e watched many YouTube videos on waist training and o so t want the extreme but a little help might be something to think about

I've had several friends/coworkers use waist trainers and seen great results. They recommend SwanCoast. You can find them here:

https://swancoast.com/collections/waisttrainers

I'll be starting waist training probably at month 3 or 4 post op. 😁

Good luck with it! I tried it years ago and it was painful. Very painful. I was already thin with a nice figure so I don't know what the hell I was thinking???

Two weeks post op I was wandering if anyone did waist training after given ok to exercise from doctor, would the waist trainer help shrink stomach faster since its in the healing process or should I wait longer for stomach to completly heal at 6-8 weeks out

My surgeon was ok with my waist trainer at week 3, So I started with a soft one w/o steel in it then @ week 8 I started with the corset waist trainer! It makes a HUGE difference. I order all my trainers from Amazon message me if u want info. I've purchased @ 4 since surgery do to my rapid lost[emoji8] #EveryWomanLikesHourglassFigure[emoji11]

I posted on this thread quite a while ago. Honestly, my waistline changed with weight loss not the corsets. looking back it was a waste of money. Your body will look fantastic just with weight loss.

Every single hiit and cardio routine includes abs now. I feel a bit cheated...to me ab work is ab work and I don’t understand why every single cardio routine is including them. They thicken the waist if done every day, and planks and all plank movements are the worst for thickening it up. I like to do my abs 3 maybe 4x a week max and find myself changing exercises for every single routine I’m doing now. When will this trend go away? It’s like trainers can’t think of any more cardio moves so they throw in abs again to fill many minutes of a workout. I just paid top dollar for a new cardio routine dvd and about 60 percent of it is standing or lying abs. I’m improvising again! I just don’t find the boxy thickened waist of excessive planking and overstrained waists attractive. If your going to train the abs like that there should be some back strengthening moves to balance out at the very least.

Don't buy fitness DVDs, find someone you like on YouTube and then follow them. I feel your pain, I got a membership at a nice gym over the summer and the classes were all like this. We have to engage our core for everything we don't need to throw abs into every workout. I also hate that fitness is so 'trendy' like with f**king squats in everything. At one point I think they even made you do squats in yoga. 🙄

This lady does great workouts, but idk if she has any cardio. You can look around though, she has a ton of videos. This workout below is fantastic and her quarantine butt routine doesn't have squats/legs just glutes... If you're like me you don't need bigger thighs.

Good luck hunting!

My clinic actually gave me a complimentary girdle to wear 15+days post-op for as long as I'd like. Not the same thing as a corset or targeted waist training, but I suppose the idea is the same.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
