Was anyone banded in December of '06?

Recommended Posts

I think all the young people who are getting their bands are really lucky. I wish I had known about this years ago.

I was banded in december and I'm down over 70 lbs.

My last fill was 3 weeks ago and I was overfilled I've lost 14 lbs is 3 weeks. I'm miserable. I can't wait to get it readjusted. I have another 20 lbs to go and I'm confident I could do it with less fill. I've been out of town since my last fill, but I'm flying back to NY Friday to go to my dr to get an unfil. I've been taking acid reflux medicine, I've tried papaya juice and meat tenderizer, and I'm having problems keeping fluids down during the day. I just cant wait to get a slight unfill and guzzle some Water.< /p>

I'll check in after I get my fill adjusted this week. I'm also going off a medication so I'm hoping that will help things.

I'll let you all know in a week or two how things are going. :rose:

Today I went from 2.2cc to 1.6cc in my band. I was getting so frustrated and mentally drained from not being able to eat. I couldn't even eat Soup at lunch. I thought it was all part of the tigher earlier in the day thing.

But, after having an unfill (she wanted to completely unfill me but I said I was too scared for that) and finally being able to eat lunch at a restaurant without running to the bathroom I am so happy. And I still only ate a little bit.

Finding the right fill is a crazy process.

So, two steps in my starting fresh are under way.

I hope to start step 3 (consistent exercise) tomorrow.

I will keep you all updated.

If you can't eat in the daytime, it doesn't sound like you need more of a fill. Are you exercising?

Yay! I am so happy for you!! Are you going to keep eating the way you have been so you don't gain or are you going to start eating a more varied diet?

Thanks, Ladies!

I'm really relieved. I wasn't sure this day would ever come.

I have a Tummy Tuck scheduled for 12/3 and I think I might want to lose another 10 pounds or so. Plastic surgeon said not to lose more than that or I'll be sorry because my face will look like a shriveled up old hag. Okay, those weren't the surgeon's words but that's what I heard. :)

So nope, not changing eating habits for a little bit yet. Although it was tempting to go buy a huge chocolate cake today but then I remembered, I've changed my ways! HA! So I'm sipping on my Chocolate/Raspberry Protein shake right now. But I'm going to give it a bit of a break for a week or two anyway and have some fun! At least my obsession with weight loss can come to an end!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
