Hello I'm new!

  • Popular Post

I'm new to this site. Going to get sleeved on 6/15/2015. My story in a nut shell... I went from bikini model babe to eating my way to doubling my weight over the past 20 years. I am an expert diet pro. I have gained/lossed 80%/40% of my body weight respectively. I have done this more than I can count. My husband of 10 years met me as I was hitting a low weight 152. We've been married 10 years and I have ballooned up to 227. He has never treated me any different. I fought the deadliest form of breast cancer and so far 5.5 years out and I'm still alive. Now I really want to live!! But not at the fat, unhealthy weight I'm at now. I don't want to do anything or go anywhere and I hate the mirrors. So after considering this for 8 years now The Lord is blessing me with this opportunity. I don't know how to fill out profile. I hope to get to know some great people who can share this journey with me!????

@@sugarbabe My surgery is on June 22nd. So far I feel fine on the pre-op diet. I've been on the Atkins diet for several weeks now. I did go through a 2-3 days of headaches when I first started that.

Yea the headache thing is a nuisance. I think its the body's way of having a hissy fit with the fact that it cant have any more of those carbs anymore, and has to put up with burning protein instead which to our body is a lousy second choice. Hence the headaches. Well thats my take on it anyway.

Fingers crossed ur surgery and recovery will be as smooth as a baby's bottom. Good luck !!

Welcome my sleeve was June 2nd I know I was so nervous and excited at the same time. The biggest hurdle I have right now is going from not eating constantly to now eating about 2-3 he's since I can't eat/drink more than 2-3 oz at a time. Wondering how long it will be before I can start drinking the water again.

Idalola, I wish you the best of luck on your surgery. I am so excited for you and wish you a speedy recovery!!!

Wascott, I am excited for you with your surgery coming up. I know you are ready! I hope everything goes well and you heal quickly. Lets us know how you are doing!!

I have 4 more days of protein shakes and liquids. 1 day of nothing but liquids and than my new life surgery.

There are times when I was tempted. But so far I'm making it . Good luck to all the new comers.

I'm new to the site. And I am new to bariatrics. Just had first appt so I have a long road ahead of me.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Welcome! There are really good suggestions and insights to different views on this site. It

is the first place I come to when I need answers.

Welcome and good luck.

Welcome! Your story is very much like mine--except the BC--I spent my 20's and 30's in a bikini on the shores of So Cal and age, bad habits, and a removed thyroid have landed me into sleeve land. My surgery is 6/30/15, so you're ahead of me, but within a few months we will be about the same place. Keep reading these posts! They'll help a lot with the pre-surgery questions.

Love seeing all the new folks on here! If you have any questions, be sure to post and if you are embarrassed to post publicly, feel free to PM me! I'm 9 months post-op and while I certainly don't have ALL the answers I'm happy to share what I do know.

Hello! I'm so glad I stumbled across this particular thread! I am getting sleeved on 6/22/15! I am doing okay on the liquid diet (thanks to seeing some scale downward movement). I have invested a small fortune in various Protein powders. I have been obese since about age 4. Like many, I have lost and gained, but never sustained. I'm hoping this tool, along with all the support and encouragement, make the difference. I'm blessed to be married to the most wonderful man who is totally supportive.

To those who provided the lists above, thank you so much! I added several items to my shopping list. I'll keep in touch, and I hope you all do the same.
