Hello I'm new!

  • Popular Post

I'm new to this site. Going to get sleeved on 6/15/2015. My story in a nut shell... I went from bikini model babe to eating my way to doubling my weight over the past 20 years. I am an expert diet pro. I have gained/lossed 80%/40% of my body weight respectively. I have done this more than I can count. My husband of 10 years met me as I was hitting a low weight 152. We've been married 10 years and I have ballooned up to 227. He has never treated me any different. I fought the deadliest form of breast cancer and so far 5.5 years out and I'm still alive. Now I really want to live!! But not at the fat, unhealthy weight I'm at now. I don't want to do anything or go anywhere and I hate the mirrors. So after considering this for 8 years now The Lord is blessing me with this opportunity. I don't know how to fill out profile. I hope to get to know some great people who can share this journey with me!????

Sugarbabe, I like the Shirataki Noodles vs regular noodles. They make a nice Pasta substitute.

So a coworker of mine drinks this "New whey liquid Protein" i tried some and i thought it didn't taste too bad. Has 42g of Protein in it. No sugar.no fat and about 2g of carbs. Anyone heard/ tried this after the sleeve?

@@kiks I have a few concerns about that New Whey product. First off, 42 grams is too much protein for your body to properly process at one time. You need to keep your protein under 30 grams per serving and give your body time to properly digest and absorb it, before having more. So really, the extra 12 grams in that product would be "wasted" and might have slight detrimental effect on your kidneys. Secondly, collagen is listed as the first protein ingredient on the label and as far as protein supplements are concerned, you should be looking for whey isolate. That is the best and most complete form of protein supplement that your body will be able to fully absorb and utilize.

I am excited, I talked to United Healthcare Bariatric Resource Center and they did have my information for surgery, they got it on 6/11 so hopefully I will have a response soon. Finger crossed for a yes!!!

Hi..I'm new to this site too.. I had my surgery 10 days ago and I have lost 16 pounds already..but it's a bit of a struggle..good luck on your journey :) I wish you the best!!

@ prbaby28. Congratulations on your surgery and Weightloss. I will be having my surgery next week and i am having some anxiety.. What are the struggles you have been having so far?

@@prbaby28 Hang in there. It will get easier day by day. I noticed huge improvements in my energy level as I moved through the different food stages. Once I got to solids, there was a lot of trial and error in accurately judging how much I could "safely" eat and pacing myself, but I did feel much better in general. Just take it day-by-day, stick to your plan, and be gentle with yourself.

Im 3 days out and i have an aughful pain on my left side. Feels like burning.

What did you eat your first few days home

@@kiks congrats and good luck :) you will have pain for the first few days..try ice for the first couple of days and heat after that (it helps sorry I'm an EMT and is hard to stop giving advice at times lol) drinking water is painful for me it hurts a lot I've read that a lot of people have trouble with it if you like lemon try squeezing a some in your water or crystal light or something like that..coconut water if you like goes that really well..for me things have to be really cold or warm I can't do room temperature..take very very small sips at a time TRUST ME!! you will feel pain if you dont..it's only been a week and 5 days but everyday is a new day and you figure new things out..but I wish you the best :) and I'm here if you have any questions

@@sassyone854 thank you for your help :) the heating pad did the trick lol

@@rsb0807 I definitely felt hungrier before surgery I think is the fact that you know you won't be able to eat for a while..good luck getting your approval and your surgery :)

@@JamieLogical thank you so much :) you are absolutely right everyday is something different..question for you did you stop losing weight for a few days?..I've been the same weight for 3 days! I know I'm probably just overreacting I did lose 17 pounds in less than 2 weeks lol
