Why no vitamins the first 2 weeks?

Recommended Posts

If they said I can take my regular medications and even without crushing them..what is the rule about no Vitamins the first 2 weeks about?

Do you mean they have told you you can swallow tablets but not Vitamins? Or are they just too big? Cut them in half? I never got any specific instructions. But do be aware, even though I am not and never have been very tight, I do find anything other than small tablets a problem.

Yes, they said my medications are fine as long as they are small. I haven't had a problem with those..but it says no Vitamins the first 2 weeks on my post op instructions..weird ...maybe because they assume vitamins are larger pills? I might call to ask but I only have a few more days until the 2 week mark anyways.

I didn't get that warning but if it's not the size of the Vitamins, could it be the irritation to the stomach? Iron is hard on the stomach. Just a guess.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
