I'm only 6 days out and I was really getting way overfull and nauseas because I was taking too large of sips. I still haven't gotten in 60 oz, but the best I can do is use a medicine cup, set my alarm on my phone for 5 minutes and then every 5 minutes, I drink 1/3rd of the medicine cup. That works out to 1 oz every 15 minutes or 4 oz every 1 hour. It is really the only way I can figure out to keep drinking without it bubbling back up. I am hoping when the swelling goes down, I will be able to drink better without measuring it this way. But at least I am not getting dehydrated - I hope (though I sure don't seem to be going to the lady's room very often).

I loved Water pre-surgery. I changed my PUR Water filter a week or so before surgery I was loving it. Hated the taste of water in hospital, hate the taste of water at home. Ice I don't mind so much. I am now trying different bottled waters, to see how that goes. Yesterday I finally reached my Fluid goal for the first time since surgery (3 weeks ago). Thank goodness through this time I have retained a lot of water, so I know I'm not dehydrated, but that's not going to last forever. I see my legs/ankles shrinking every day.

I am finding tea helps. Flavored drops in the water help somewhat.....it makes me a little sad, because I was such a huge water drinker before. Hoping this improves. Def. not getting the food in I am supposed to, have to stay on top of these liquids. One big difference is sipping vs. straw. I think I'm missing how I used to drink my water, and it's quite possible it just went down my throat rather than tasting it too much. That's all I can think. But no straws now. So I dunno what to do. LOL

I already love Water (pre-op) and have no problem drinking 72 ozs a day. I hope that doesn't change post-op!

Preop I had no issues drinking 64 ounces of Water per day but post op I had the worst time trying to get in all my fluids. My surgeon wants 80-100 ounces and I'm only getting in about 60 per day even at seven weeks post op

I was sleeved on Monday and before surgery I would only drink Water. About 80 oz a day. As of surgery water makes me physically ill. Tried drops and crystal Light and could not stand them either. I have been eating smoothies since surgery to stay hydrated. I have gone to the bathroom since surgery so I know I am not constipated. I want to be able to drink so I can move to the Protein shakes:)

It'll take time. . As the swelling goes down. . You will be able to drink more and faster.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
